Speaker: Terence O'Leary

Topic: Writing Sports Novels for Young Adults. Terence was born in Chicago, Illinois, but has spent his teenage and adult life in Northwest Ohio where the varied seasons and sports provide the background for his three 'sports as therapy' YA novels. He is a graduate of the University of Toledo with a degree in journalism, English, and psychology. Terence's criticallu acclaimed realistic coming-of-age stories focus on teenagers facing a family crisis. He has penned Penalty Kick, The Town That Never Stared, and More Than A Game.

A Writing  Prompt

Write a letter from a coach to a parent of a player, explaining why the player quit the team.
